DAS YOUNG ACHIEVER 2017
Benjamin always worked hard at school to produce high standards of performance, in both in his academic studies and co-curricular activities.
According to his teacher, Benjamin treated his school mates with kindness and respect. He was always mindful of his speech or actions towards anyone because he did not wish to hurt the feelings of others.
Benjamin was awarded the DAS Young Achiever Award (YAA) 2017 mainly due to his volunteerism. Benjamin started volunteering with the Children’s Charities Association of Singapore since he was just 7 years old. His exemplary commitment and contribution to the community plus his excellent character and perseverance earns him the well deserved YAA for 2017.
Throughout my stay in DAS I have learnt many skills and practices to overcome many of the challenges that come along with being dyslexic. DAS has truly been a wonderful experience for me. I cannot recall a lesson where I did not enjoy myself. Throughout my stay in DAS I have learnt many skills and practices to overcome many of the challenges that come along with being dyslexic. Were it not for the diligent and patient teachings of Ms Miranda, DAS would not have nurtured me to who I am today.
I taught Benjamin for two years until he graduated in June 2014. I remembered Benjamin as a model student. He was amiable and respectful; and articulate and enthusiastic in discussion and learning new things. Benjamin was very good at explaining the meanings of words and in coming up with examples. His classmates had benefited from having him in the class.
