Example of a Bursary Recipient

John is a 14-year-old student. His parents referred him to the DAS as they were concerned with his difficulties in reading and spelling. They and his teachers did not report any other difficulties. An assessment of dyslexia, which costs $1,800*, is proposed. John’s family applied to DAS for a bursary and based on their family income, were awarded a 50% bursary. They therefore paid only $900* for the assessment, enabling John to take an important first step in his learning journey.

*Fees shown are for illustrative purposes only.

Appointments are typically scheduled within 4 to 8 weeks*^ once all required documents are submitted and reviewed. Timelines may vary depending on the completeness of the application, scheduling availability, and the nature of the assessment required.

*The average waiting time will vary from period to period as the DAS receives referrals from our clients on a daily basis. This applies where no additional information/documents are required, barring the discovery of additional pertinent information during the course of the assessment.
^Waiting time updated as of 13 Apr 2026.

One password-protected soft copy psychological report will be provided for each assessment.

Within one month from the original report date, clients can request one additional soft copy and up to two hard copy reports at no charge. Otherwise, the provision of additional reports will be chargeable at prevailing rates starting from $72.60. With effect from 1 July 2026, the prevailing rates will start from $76.20.

Request for a supporting letter may be made for valid psychological reports (within 3 years from the last assessment date).

The first copy (softcopy only) will be free and subsequent request(s) will be chargeable at the prevailing rates.

All fees are inclusive of the prevailing GST of 9%.

Upcoming Revision to DAS SpLD Assessment Fees (Effective 1 July 2026)

The Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) will be revising the fees for its assessment services—programmes that are not funded by the Ministry of Education (MOE)—with effect from 1 July 2026.

Please note that assessment applications submitted on or before 30 June 2026 will not be affected by the fee revision, provided that the assessment is completed before 31 December 2026. Assessments submitted from 1 July 2026 onwards will be subject to the new revised fees.

DAS remains committed to keeping our services as affordable as possible. However, this adjustment is necessary to cope with rising operational costs. Currently, our assessment services are provided below actual cost, and as they are not subsidised by MOE, DAS has been absorbing the shortfall.

To ensure the long-term sustainability of these services and continue supporting the needs of our community, a fee revision is now required.

Financial Assistance Available

We understand that affordability is a concern for many families. Singaporean families in need may apply for bursaries ranging from 33% to 100% to help offset the cost of assessments. In the last financial year alone, DAS raised over $2.9 million in donations to provide bursaries for students requiring non-MOE-funded services and programmes. This ongoing support enables DAS to continue assisting students who may otherwise face challenges accessing specialised assessment and intervention services.
