From a quiet and reserved student to a confident performer and leader, Tieara’s journey in the Speech and Drama Arts (SDA) programme has been one of remarkable growth and inspiration. Since joining SDA in 2021, she has blossomed into a fine young lady who shines not only on stage but also in the hearts of her peers.

Growing Confidence through Creative Expression
In her early days at SDA, Tieara was soft-spoken and often hesitant to express herself in front of others. Over time, however, she began to find her voice, both literally and figuratively, through the safe and supportive environment that drama provides. Today, she is one of the most encouraging and dependable members of her class, always ready to uplift her friends with kind words and constructive support. Her journey is a testament to how drama can empower students to believe in themselves and their unique strengths.

Outside of SDA, Tieara continues to demonstrate strong leadership and character. She serves as the Class Chairperson in her school, a role that reflects her maturity, sense of responsibility, and ability to work well with others. Her teachers and classmates appreciate her calm, respectful presence and her ability to bring people together, a quality that shines both in school and in drama.
Shining On Stage and On The Field
Her dedication does not stop there. Tieara is also an active sportswoman, balancing her artistic and athletic pursuits with admirable discipline. As part of the Strategic Partnership Co-Curricular Activities programme, she trains in Javelin Throw twice a week at various venues including Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Gombak, and Yio Chu Kang Stadiums. Despite her demanding training schedule, she still makes time to attend drama classes after sports. That’s a true testament to her commitment and passion.
Her efforts and perseverance have paid off. Tieara achieved 3rd place in the Javelin Throw at the “Get Active! Singapore Pesta Sukan” competition held on 2 August 2025 at the Home of Athletics. Earlier this year, she also participated in the Singapore Athletics All Comers Meet 1 and 2 (Under 15 Category), competing in both the Javelin and Discus Throw events at Yio Chu Kang Stadium. These achievements highlight her determination and ability to thrive in competitive settings.
The SDA classes at DAS has helped Tieara develop confidence in her abilities. She continues to demonstrate that dyslexia does not define her, it fuels her resilience and drive to excel in multiple areas. Tieara’s aunt also shares her heartfelt appreciation for how much she enjoys and benefits from her drama classes, expressing gratitude for the teachers who understand and motivate her.
Whether it’s the rehearsal room or the athletics field, Tieara channels her courage and creativity to give her all. She reminds us that when given the right support and opportunities, every student can thrive and shine in their own way. Her journey continues to inspire her peers and teachers alike, showing that with heart, effort, and belief, anything is possible.
We are incredibly proud of you, Tieara!
