The first of May was an unforgettable day for DAS students Sofia and Rainie as they took the stage at the Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) May Day Charity Dinner. Together with the talented multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter Lyla Ng, as well as cellist James Widjaja, the girls delivered a heartfelt captivating performance that lit up the evening.

With poise and passion, Sofia and Rainie showcased the confidence they have built through their journey with DAS, proving that with the right support, young people can truly thrive on stage. Their performances were a testament not only to their talent but also to their resilience, hard work, and dedication.
What made the evening even more special was the presence of their families. Thanks to the generosity of SICC, each performer’s family was offered two complimentary seats at the dinner, giving them the chance to cheer on Sofia and Rainie in person. The warmth and pride from the audience were palpable, creating a memorable atmosphere of encouragement and celebration.

Both Sofia and Rainie shared how grateful they were for the opportunity to perform at such a meaningful event, one that supports charitable causes and brings communities together. It was a night that beautifully blended music, purpose, and joy, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who attended.
Sofia and Rainie are no strangers to the stage. They have performed previously at the 2023 DAS Student Talent Showcase, where they wowed audiences with their growth. We’re thrilled to share that Sofia will be performing again at the upcoming DAS Student Talent Showcase: Gift of Wonders on 28 June 2025, continuing to inspire with her passion and confidence!
