MADINAH BEGUM

Madinah has been with the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) since 2014 and is currently a Flexi Senior Educational Therapist and a RETA Fellow. She now focuses on teaching the Main Literacy Programme (MLP) and brings with her a wide breadth of experience from having taught across various programmes, including iReaCH and Prep 2 PSLE. She is dual-specialised in the Prep 2 PSLE programme and has previously taken on leadership roles as the Lead of the DAS HEAL Team as well as serving as an Educational Advisor.

Madinah holds a Master’s degree in Counselling, which enhances her ability to support students holistically by attending not only to their academic needs but also to their emotional and psychological well-being. This training allows her to build strong therapeutic relationships, create a safe and nurturing learning environment, and support students in developing self-confidence, emotional regulation, and resilience.

With her strong background in both education and counselling, Madinah adopts a learner-centred and strengths-based approach in her intervention, tailoring lessons to meet the individual needs of each student. She is passionate about using evidence-based strategies to empower learners to become more independent and confident. She also enjoys mentoring junior therapists and contributing to professional growth through collaboration and the sharing of best practices.
