Jia Hui joined the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) in 2021 as an Educational Therapist. She graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a degree in Psychology (Honours). She provides intervention for children with dyslexia, as well as other specific learning differences such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and speech impairment through the DAS Main Literacy Programme (MLP). Currently, Jia Hui is also a curriculum developer with the English Language and Literacy Division (ELL), helping to develop materials to increase teacher and student success. Jia Hui believes that while memories of lesson content fade with time, experiences shape a human being and leave a lasting mark. Thus, she constantly strives to create connections between students’ lived experiences and the learning at hand. She strongly believes in having a growth mindset and hopes to help students build their self-confidence, motivation and grit by providing a safe space for them to grow.
