Amaryllis is no stranger to Chinese Drumming. In fact, the rhythmic pulse of the drum has been a powerful companion in her journey of growth and self-discovery.
The Discipline Behind The Drums
The first time Amaryllis joined the programme, she quickly realised that music is more than just entertainment — it demands hard work, dedication, and discipline. These lessons resonated deeply with her, shaping her into the confident, creative young person she is today. Through every beat and rhythm, Amaryllis has learned resilience, focus, and the joy of self-expression.
So when she heard that she could join the Chinese Drumming programme again, there was no hesitation — her answer was a resounding yes. The excitement of another chance to perform on stage and share her love for drumming with an audience was something she eagerly looked forward to.
Embracing Every Challenge
Amaryllis’s passion for the drums runs deep. She does not fear the challenges or occasional mistakes that come with practice. Instead, she embraces them wholeheartedly, seeing each hurdle as a stepping stone to becoming better. Her growth has also been nurtured under the guidance of Ms Nancy from The TENG Company, whose encouragement and expertise have made every practice session not only productive but also filled with laughter and joy.

What sets Amaryllis apart is her remarkable outlook on life. Living with dyslexia, she doesn’t see it as a limitation. Instead, she views it as a unique gift — a different way of thinking that fuels her creativity and problem-solving skills. Her mother shares that Amaryllis has always been drawn to the arts, and it’s no surprise that she continues to pursue creative endeavours with such passion and determination.
Finding Calm In The Spotlight
Unlike many her age, Amaryllis feels right at home on stage. Performing doesn’t make her nervous; it energises her. She finds drumming soothing, almost like second nature — a place where she can truly be herself. This calm confidence allows her to captivate the audience effortlessly, transforming each performance into a celebration of her passion and spirit.
Today, Amaryllis’s love for percussion continues to grow. Chinese Drumming has opened a door to a lifelong passion, and she hopes to keep the rhythm alive for many years to come. As she takes the stage at Gift of Wonders, Amaryllis reminds us all that true confidence comes from embracing who we are and marching boldly to our own beat.
