This competition encourages our children to reflect, create, and embrace. Inspiring them to see beyond imperfections, celebrate differences and craft beauty, it serves as a reminder that they are greater than their limitations.

Introducing Our Art Competition Judges
Meet our esteemed panel of judges for the DAS Art Competition 2024,
each bringing their unique expertise and passion for creativity!

Chen Chin Tyng, Lecturer, Pastoral Care
MA of Fine Art, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia
BA Fine Art, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia
Chin Tyng graduated in Jewellery Design in LASALLE College of the Arts and continued her BA and MA in Gold and Silversmithing from RMIT. She has been lecturing in LASALLE since 1996.
She has 16 years of teaching experience in the Foundation programme in LASALLE. And currently is actively involved in community projects with the Foundation students. These projects include a mural for The Conrad Centennial Singapore Hotel and a sculpture project “Tower of Treats” with National Environment Agency for the Clean and Green Week and the recent Youth Olympic Games 2010 opening performance with fashion students. The community project enriches and empowers students in their learning and has broadened the scope and reputation of the already influential Foundation programme.

Ms Lim Boon Eng, Head of VA Faculty
Bachelor of Fine Art and Art History at Goldsmiths College, University of London
Master of Arts in Art History (Distinction) at School of Oriental and African Studies
Boon Eng pursues her artistic practices in media such as drawing, painting and photography, and has participated at art teachers’ exhibitions and charity fundraising events. As an art history graduate, Boon Eng has interest in both western and oriental art, particularly in terms of the practices and the multiplicity of purpose that surround them. She believes that with a greater appreciation of this discipline, art-making as an on-going conversation with the past, present and future can be enriched.

Mr Guillaume Sachet
DAS Committee Member, Programme and Services Committee
Guillaume has more than 25 years of experience in the Tech, Financial Services and Government sector. Prior to joining KPMG as a Partner, he was the Head of Strategy at Mediacorp where he drove digital transformation, innovation and investments between 2012 and 2017. He was subsequently appointed Head of Social to manage social media and digital marketing activities. Prior to Mediacorp, Guillaume was a Partner with the strategy practice of Accenture, responsible for Telecom, Media and Tech strategy clients across Southeast Asia.
Over the years, he has developed deep digital and customer experience expertise across the APAC region. He has spent close to 30 years in Asia, living and working in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, Brunei, Vietnam, Philippines, Korea and China. Recognized as a thought leader in the tech industry, Guillaume is a regular speaker and writer. In particular, he wrote more than 20 articles and white papers on tech and innovation for various organizations and publications.

Colouring
Students can use any medium to colour i.e. watercolours, crayons, acrylic.
Please note that templates are printed on A4 drawing block.
Eligibility:
- DAS/DAI students from 5 to 9 years old
- Maximum of one entry per student
Submissions
- Participants must submit this form to express interest. You will receive an email where you may upload your artwork before the deadline.
- Each entry must be accompanied with the child’s full name as registered in the above link.
- Artwork must be solely done by the student.
- Artwork can be done in any medium (colour pencils, crayon, markers, watercolour, etc).

- Hard copies must be submitted by 31 July 2024 to Jurong Point, Bishan or Parkway Parade Learning Centre. You can also submit it through their DAS Educational Therapist.
- Take a picture of your artwork and upload in the registration email sent to you.
- Winners shall be notified through our social media platform and via email.
Canvas Painting
We seek your rights to upload your artwork on our official DAS Instagram upon your submission.
Eligibility:
- DAS/DAI students from 10 to 13 years old OR
- Ex-DAS students from 10 to 13 years old
- Maximum of one entry per student
Submissions
- Participants must submit this form to express interest. You will receive an email where you may upload your artwork before the deadline.
- Artwork must be accompanied by the student’s full name.
- Entry must follow the competition theme – Beautifully Different.
- Artwork must be solely done by the student.
- Artwork can be done in any medium (acrylic, watercolour, markers, colour pencils, crayon, mixed media, etc) on a canvas (min. 30 x 40) or A3 drawing block paper.
- Hard copies to be submitted by 31 July 2024 at Jurong Point Learning Centre or Bishan Learning Centre or Parkway Parade Learning Centre or through their DAS Educational Therapist.
- Take a picture of your artwork and upload in the registration email sent to you.
- Winners shall be notified through our social media platform and via email.
Canvas Painting
We seek your rights to upload your artwork on our official DAS Instagram upon your submission.
Your art piece submitted will need to be accompanied with a short description about your work.
Eligibility:
- DAS/DAI Students from 14 to 17 years old OR
- Ex-DAS Students from 14 to 17 years old
- Maximum of one entry per student
- You are allowed to participate in both Canvas Painting and Photography.
Submissions
- Participants must submit this form to express interest. You will receive an email where you may upload your artwork before the deadline.
- Artwork must be accompanied by the student’s full name.
- Entry must follow the competition theme – Beautifully Different.
- Artwork must be solely done by the student.
- Canvas should be at least 40cm x 50cm.
- Artwork can be done in any medium (acrylic, watercolour, markers, colour pencils, crayon, mixed media, etc)
- Do not forget to include a short story about your artwork.
- Hard copies to be submitted by 31 July 2024 at Jurong Point Learning Centre or Bishan Learning Centre or Parkway Parade Learning Centre or through their DAS Educational Therapist.
- Take a picture of your artwork and upload in the registration email sent to you.
- Winners shall be notified through our social media platform and via email.
Photography Art
We seek your rights to upload your artwork on our official DAS Instagram upon your submission.
Your artwork submitted will need to be accompanied with a short description.
Eligibility:
- DAS/DAI Students from 14 to 17 years old OR
- Ex-DAS Students from 14 to 17 years old
- Maximum of one entry per student
- You are allowed to participate in both Canvas Painting and Photography.
- Younger artists are welcomed but you will be judge at the same level as the rest
Submissions
- Participants must submit this form to express interest. You will receive an email where you may upload your artwork before the deadline.
- Entry must follow the competition theme – Beautifully Different.
- You can submit only one artwork
- Photograph should not be work that has been submitted prior to other competition.
- Photograph entry must be in digital format with the following technical specifications:
- File format: JPG or PNG.
- Maximum file size: 10MB
- Image file name: Rename file with artist’s name
- The artwork must be the original work of the participant. The image must have originated within the camera/smartphone and be the work of the photographer entering the competition.
- There is no restriction on the use of pre-sets for the enhancement of Colour, Tone, Clarity etc. You may use digital image manipulation (e.g. Photoshop) if you desire.
- Do not forget to include a short story about your artwork during upload.
- Entry should be submitted by 31 July 2024.
Photography Art (with a story)
We seek your rights to upload your artwork on our official DAS Instagram upon your submission.
Your artwork submitted will need to be accompanied with a story on how your learning differences have impacted you while growing up.
Eligibility:
- General Public – 18 years old and above with learning differences (no diagnosis required) OR
- Ex-DAS students 18 years old and above
- Maximum of one entry per person
Submissions
- Participants must submit this form to express interest. You will receive an email where you may upload your artwork before the deadline.
- Entry must follow the competition theme – Beautifully Different.
- You can submit only one photograph.
- Photograph should not be work that has been submitted prior to other competition.
- Photograph entry must be in digital format with the following technical specifications:
- File format: JPG or PNG.
- Maximum file size: 10MB
- Image file name: Rename file with artist’s name
- The artwork must be the original work of the participant. The image must have originated within the camera/smartphone and be the work of the photographer entering the competition.
