Safinah Binte Hassan joined the DAS in 2005 and is currently a Lead Educational Therapist and MLP SLP Programme Manager based at the Jurong Point Learning Centre, bringing over 20 years of experience in literacy intervention, programme development, curriculum design, and educational leadership.
Safinah was one of the pioneers involved in the launch of the DAS Preschool Service and has held roles as a Preschool Educational Therapist, Programme Manager, and Educational Advisor. She has contributed significantly to professional development within DAS, conducting workshops at the DAS Preschool Seminars (2017–2018), participating in UNITE SPLD (2019, 2022), and supporting the training, mentoring, and development of trainee Educational Therapists.
Currently, Safinah manages the Main Literacy Programme (MLP SLP), overseeing programme implementation, monitoring instructional quality, and contributing to curriculum development within the English Language and Literacy Division (ELL). Her work is grounded in evidence-based practices, including the Science of Reading, the Science of Learning, and Orton-Gillingham principles. She is committed to providing high-quality, differentiated literacy intervention to support dyslexic learners of all ages.
