Marcel currently serves as the Deputy Director of Finance & Human Resources at the Dyslexia Association of Singapore. She initially joined DAS as a Finance Manager in October 2013. With a degree in Accountancy, Marcel obtained her Certified Public Accountant qualification in the Philippines. She was admitted as a Chartered Accountant of Singapore in April 2024. Her professional journey commenced as an auditor with Ernst & Young Global in the Philippines, until her relocation to Singapore in 2006.
Before joining DAS, Marcel worked as a Senior Assistant at RT LLP (formerly known as LTC LLP) in 2006, progressing to the role of Manager until her departure in 2013. Her extensive experience spans over 8 years in auditing various public and private companies across industries such as manufacturing, trading, manpower services, logistics, retailing, construction, and engineering. In her current role at DAS, Marcel oversees both financial matters and human resources, demonstrating her versatility and dedication to organisational excellence. She ensures compliance with financial reporting requirements, collaborates across departments for corporate governance, manages budgeting and financial analysis, and liaises with auditors and stakeholders. Simultaneously, Marcel oversees recruitment efforts and other HR operational functions, fostering positive employee relations and implementing talent management initiatives.
