Kate joined the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) in 2023 and is an Educational Therapist at the DAS Bishan Learning Centre. She provides Chinese language intervention for primary and secondary learners with dyslexia and other specific learning differences, supporting literacy development and learner independence.

Kate adopts a student-centred, strengths-based approach, focusing on cultivating learners’ interest, confidence, and self-belief while helping them build on their strengths. With over six years of teaching experience in Singapore’s education landscape, Kate delivers educational therapy using the Orton–Gillingham approach. She designs tailored instructional plans and materials to address diverse learning needs, monitors students’ progress, and refines intervention strategies accordingly. She also conducts Chinese language profiling assessments to identify difficulties in areas such as visual recognition, semantics, and tonation.
