Ru Jia is an Educational Therapist who joined the Dyslexia Association of Singapore in February 2025. She teaches the Main Literacy Programme at Tampines Learning Centre, which provides intervention to students with dyslexia and other specific learning differences. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (1st Class Honours) in Sociology from the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York.
Prior to becoming an Educational Therapist, Ru Jia held roles in special education where she had the privilege to work with children and young adults with special needs such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in school-based settings. She is passionate about fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that empowers each child to reach their full potential. She believes in equipping students with the tools they need to thrive and building their confidence in learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Arts (1st Class Honours) in Sociology from the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York.
- Certificate in Autism from Autism Resource Centre
- Certificate in Understanding Dyslexia
