Chen Peiqi Dawn joined the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) in 2025, bringing with her extensive experience in education and a passion for empowering students with diverse learning needs. She believes in recognizing each child’s unique learning profile and tailoring her teaching to build confidence and academic success.
Previously, Peiqi served as an Education Officer with the Ministry of Education (MOE) Singapore, teaching English Language and English Literature at the secondary school level. Her classroom experience reinforced her commitment to fostering resilience, critical thinking, and a love for learning in students.
As an Educational Therapist at DAS, she provides structured intervention through the Main Literacy Programme (MLP), helping learners with dyslexia and other specific learning differences develop essential literacy skills. She strives to make learning accessible and meaningful, empowering students to thrive.
Beyond her professional role, Peiqi is deeply involved in community service, particularly in youth development and mentorship. She has volunteered with AWWA, providing student care and tutoring, and Blossom World Society, where she supports youth leadership initiatives. She also spearheaded a pop-up market for young entrepreneurs, helping them develop business and interpersonal skills.
Her dedication to inclusivity extends to her role as a former Inter-Religious Peace Ambassador with Roses of Peace, advocating for interfaith dialogue and understanding. Appointed by former President Mdm Halimah Yacob, she actively contributed to outreach efforts. Her experiences have strengthened her ability to foster empathy and inclusivity in her teaching.
Peiqi holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Psychology from the National University of Singapore and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Secondary English and English Literature) from the National Institute of Education, Singapore.
