How is your organisation girding for the recession? Are there any silver linings or bright spots amid the economic gloom?
Some of our clients had to withdraw their children from our programmes due to financial difficulties during this period. Thankfully, government initiatives such as the Bicentennial Community Fund and improved funding terms from donors have helped us in raising funds to support children from lower-income families. Such positive action and generosity in times of adversity show that SG truly cares and a deep conviction in our society that learning cannot stop for children with special educational learning needs. It is noteworthy that DAS students have also demonstrated grit and hunger to learn despite disruptions to their learning schedules. We call upon more Singaporeans and local organisations to come forward to support those in need during these difficult times.
