DAS ADVISORY 4 – 26 MARCH 2020
Dear DAS Parents,
You will have read the latest MOH measures dated 24 March which dictates that “All centre-based tuition and enrichment classes will be suspended. This is to reduce the intermingling of students from different schools and enhance the safety of our students.” This will be effective from 27 March to 30 April.
As you are aware, DAS has been preparing for this eventuality for some time and we have already initiated home-based learning since the start of school term 2. DAS is prepared to continue providing classes via online platforms and/or with take-home learning packs so you do not have to be concerned that there will be disruption to your child’s learning. Do note that there will be continued interaction with your DAS Educational Therapist with take-home learning packs.
DAS prefers not to conduct make-up classes in the June school holidays because unfortunately, no one knows how long this situation will persist. So rather than suspend our children’s learning, we urge all parents to embrace the new approaches to learning and do the necessary to help their children continue their learning uninterrupted.
DAS appreciates that these classes will not be an exact duplication of regular physical classes. We also understand that because of unfamiliarity, some of you will encounter technical issues or do not have devices for your child. Rest assured that the various DAS programme teams have put much thought into creating these home-based learning approaches and DAS is confident that the classes will become more and more effective as we all become increasingly familiar.
Please stay safe and healthy.
