Dear Parents/Guardians,
As agreed with MOE who part funds the DAS Main Literacy Programme, we are pleased to share that DAS will make available supplementary classes in the form of Structured Mandatory Make-Up (SMMU) for MLP lessons missed due to gazetted public holidays, DAS closure days from 2022 and students whose attendance are below the 75% mark. The date and time of the online SMMUs are planned to convenience the majority and will be determined by DAS.
Your child will be attending SMMU if his/her classes fall on the following public holidays in Term 4, 2022, or if his/her attendance from April 2022 to September 2022 was below 75%.
The public holiday in Term 4, 2022 is;
- Deepavali, Monday 24th October 2022
The online SMMU classes will be held on 22 Nov (Tuesday) and/or 23 Nov 2022 (Wednesday), during the school holidays. Your assigned MLP Educational Therapists (EdTs) for the SMMU will be reaching out with more details including the session times and online lesson links. Please note that the assigned MLP EdT and grouping for the SMMU may NOT be your current MLP EdT and the class your child is attending.
DAS has been conducting SMMU to help students with lower than 75% attendance for more than a year and has found it to be very effective for the children.
