The Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) has opened a new 330-square-meter learning centre in Toa Payoh, equipped with 11 classrooms and a library, to better serve students in the central and northeastern regions. The centre introduces a central administrative office and utilizes technology to allow staff to remotely support all 12 DAS centres. This innovation reduces the need for on-site administrative personnel, enabling them to focus on tasks such as communicating with parents and organizing student progress reports. The new centre offers programmes in literacy, Chinese, preschool education, science, and mathematics, with plans to train additional teachers as student enrollment increases. This expansion aims to alleviate high demand at centres in Serangoon, Sengkang, and Bishan, where approximately 30 to 40 students are on waiting lists.
