DAS ADVISORY 6 – 4 APRIL 2020
Dear DAS Parents,
You will have heard our Prime Minister’s address to the nation on Friday (3 April) afternoon. In adherence to our government’s call for everyone to make a “decisive move” to contain the COVID-19, all DAS learning centres will be closed from 7 April to 4 May 2020.
However, please be assured that DAS Home-Based Learning (HBL) will continue as before. We started HBL two weeks ago (since 23 March) and I am pleased that DAS students have embraced this new approach to learning. I am also delighted that DAS educational therapists have adapted very quickly and will continue to do so even though they will now be teaching from home.
All DAS programmes are also working on improving the delivery of our online teaching and take-home learning packs so you can expect more and improved interaction with your child in the coming weeks. Individual programme leaders will be keeping you informed of details. We welcome your feedback so that we can continue supporting your children and not let COVID-19 disrupt their learning!
Unfortunately, psychological assessments, screening and profiling sessions will have to be postponed from 7 April. We will still be able to receive and process assessment applications and parents who have already made appointments can be assured they will have priority when DAS learning centres reopen.
All DAS telephone lines will be manned, and all staff will continue to work and will be responding to your queries during our regular hours. So please do not hesitate to contact us!
Please stay safe and healthy.
Yours sincerely,
Lee Siang
