Meet the Cast
School Of Hard Knocks
An original script from the SDA Team that was inspired by Elan Teo’s original script The Gift of Selflessness. School of Hard Knocks is a story about a group of students who are chosen to attend an orientation camp where they will discover their true strengths and learn more from each other. Sometimes our circumstances, limitations and fears can make friendships, learning and expressing difficult for us. Through the story, you’ll learn, that when life gives you lemons, don’t settle for simply making lemonade. All it takes is some compassion, teamwork, creativity and an abundance of affection and care to make a difference in others’ lives.

Ziqry loves to be in the limelight! Be it acting, dancing, or in sports, he wants to be the best. He wants to be the greatest soccer player in Singapore!

Taniecia is the President of the Student Council in her school. She enjoys organising school activities and plays netball as a CCA. In her free time, she reads. The Percy Jackson & the Olympians book series is her favorite work of fiction. Due to Percy Jackson’s dyslexia, she is inspired to read all of his adventures.

Siti loves to edit videos by adding her voice. To Siti, her family means everything to you.

Hazel likes to watch TikTok and play Roblox during her free time. She dreams of becoming an award-winning mixologist. The idea of experimenting and creating new cocktail recipes excites her.

Guo Hong has chickens as pets and he dotes on them very much. Guo Hong wants to be a professional gamer when he grows up.

Kane likes to play basketball and watch anime and reality shows. He looks forward to school days as he always has.

Gizmo’s Christmas
An original script from the SDA Team that was inspired by Wan Nur Endriana Bte Wan Hisham’s original script The Christmas Machine. In the magic and wonder of Santa’s workshop, a group of cheerful and industrious elves are responsible for making toys, wrapping gifts, and helping Santa prepare for his annual Christmas Eve journey. In the Gift Wrapping Department, elves are working tirelessly to have toys wrapped as fast and as many as possible. But one elf, Gizmo, seems to be distracted by the idea of building a machine that would help the department to speed things up. But without him realising, he causes delays and bottle-necks. These stir tensions among Gizmo and his elves’ buddies. Will Gizmo give up on his dream machine?

Jayden loves spicy tom yum noodles. He spends his free time playing his iPad and Nintendo games. In SDA class, Jayden is great at making character voices. He aspires to be a famous YouTuber.

Isaac was working on drawing cartoons before the PSLE exams. He hopes to complete it and share it with his friends one day. He aspires to be a cartoonist.

Seow Zhen enjoys eating honeydew and mangoes. She creates her own comics and draws the characters in her sketchbook.

I used to cry whenever Mama asked me to read. She knew I needed help and loved singing, hence I was enrolled at DAS and Aureus Academy. Singing not only boosts my confidence, it gives me joy and a reminder that I am unique. Besides singing, I am learning to play the piano too. My passion is to be a music teacher. I want to help Dyslexic children find music as their therapy and hope.

I first started dancing when I was 4 years old, as I was inspired by my older sister, and hence led me to become the dancer that I am. I have been dancing for about 10 years and have competed in numerous dance competitions. In 2022, I was part of the Singapore Ballet company production – Nutcracker. Besides dancing, I am also trained in Aesthetic Group Gymnastics (AGG) and have represented Singapore in AGG competitions in DuCup, Dubai 2019 and Shine Cup, Korea 2023.
