At the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS), we take great pride in ensuring that we uphold the highest standards of governance and transparency in all that we do. We are thrilled to share that DAS, DAS International, and DAS Academy have achieved an incredible triple hat-trick, winning the Charity Transparency Award (CGA) for three consecutive years!
So, what does this mean, and why is it important to you – our valued community, students, and families?
WHAT IS THE CHARITY GOVERNANCE AWARD?
An initiative by the Charity Council, the Charity Governance Award (CGA) recognises organisations that demonstrate outstanding governance, accountability, and transparency.
WHAT MAKES DAS STAND OUT?
As part of the 2024 CGA assessment, independent assessors from Ernst & Young (EY) had observed the positive attributes in DAS’s governance framework:
- A diverse leadership team – Our board consists of experts from different fields, including HR, Finance, Consulting, Law, and Education, bringing diverse perspectives to guide DAS forward.
- A structured board selection process – Every board member is carefully selected based on their contributions, experience, and alignment with DAS’s mission.
- Clear vision and purpose – DAS’s mission, goals, and strategy are clearly defined and form the backbone of all our work.
- Commitment to risk management – We have a clear process to identify and document the key risks.
- Strategic Alignment/Goal Alignment – Our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for FY24 and FY25 are closely linked to our mission, helping us track and measure success.
