CEO Thoughts: Stay active, stay healthy, stay wonderful for your loved ones

The first few weeks of January have once again been a whirlwind of activity as DAS continued regular classes and got activities going while addressing several new developments. Despite the bustle, I am heartened by our Human Resource colleagues’ initiative to encourage all staff to get up and move and walk a good number of steps a day. We will be using the application GETGREAT which is a Health & Wellness platform. All DAS colleagues will be formed into teams and the DAS Happy Feet steps challenge will be from 1 February and last for 3 months.

Although the steps challenge has yet to start, I was very happy to note that my team-mates have already gotten going and average steps over the last seven days ranged from 6,000 to 14,000 ! I have strived to improve my step count too and I am glad I was able to register an average of just over 10,000 steps in December and I have a good chance of going over 10,000 steps again in January. I feel much more energised and therefore more positive and productive at work !

When I was registering for DAS Happy Feet on the GETGREAT app, the app asked the question : what motivates you to join this activity ? I chose the answer “I want to feel energised so that I can spend quality time with my loved ones.”

And that is my message to all colleagues and parents and students of DAS on the eve of Lunar New Year : Stay active …. stay healthy …. stay wonderful for your loved ones because they deserve the wonderful you and the wonderful times they will spend with you !

I wish everyone a delightful Lunar New Year weekend and a terrific 2020 ahead !
