At the Student Graduation Ceremony in November 2015, as we left the auditorium, DAS Patron Mrs Goh Chok Tong said to me, “Lee Siang, I am delighted that you are celebrating the success of your students. We must also acknowledge the incredible work of DAS staff. Can I buy them a meal!”
How wonderful it is to hear this from our Patron! So she bought us lunch in January 2016 at the Lifelong Learning Institute and again on 31 January 2018 at Suntec Convention Centre. Both meals were organized as part of our All Staff Kick Off Meeting for the year.
DAS colleagues were very touched by Mrs Goh’s appreciation and encouragement. It brought a smile to my face as different DAS staff teams spontaneously queued to take a photo with Mrs Goh after lunch. I was most grateful to Mrs Goh who sportingly stood for almost an hour for all photographs to be taken.
A great start to the year knowing that we have the wonderful support of our beloved Patron !
