Isabel joined the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) in 2020 as an Educational Therapist in the Main Literacy Programme (MLP). She previously graduated from the National University Of Singapore (NUS) with a degree in Psychology (Honors). As a fun-loving, empathetic, and patient individual, Isabel gravitated naturally towards teaching as a career. She hopes to support every child to reach their fullest potential by providing a safe and supportive learning environment for them to grow. Isabel believes that you should not force academic content on students by brute force, but rather by building their self-confidence, interest, and motivation to pursue learning on their own. Isabel also believes that every child has their own strengths and interests. Some fit into our education system better than others, but they all can make meaningful contributions all the same. Students are more than their grades. They come with their own set of personalities, experiences, and ideas. She wants her students to feel valued in her classroom, and that their uniqueness allows them to bring something to the table. In 2023, Isabel joined the curriculum team as a curriculum developer. She looks forward to contributing and enriching the existing curriculum for the various programmes that DAS offers.
