To participate in our art competition, please register here.
1. You can submit your artwork at any time after registration by clicking the “Edit Response” button found in your confirmation email using Google Form.
2. Proceed straight to Section 4 by clicking the “Next” button. Upload artwork in pdf format or image files.
3. Registering now will allow you to receive email updates of our competition. We strongly encourage that you register first before you submit your artwork.

Takanao Todo
Studio Professor, Chulalongkorn University

Takanao Todo is a studio professor at Chulalongkorn University for INDA (International Program in Design and Architecture) from 2019. He graduated from the Architectural Association School of Architecture (England) in 2008, worked for various architectural farms in London, Paris, Munich, Tokyo and Singapore. His main forces in architectural design are material research and innovative design concept, which drives him to win numerous architectural awards including, London Design Award “Silver Winner” + DP Inspiration award “Design of the year” with “Cada cuba huele al vino que tiene” (2017), Honorable mention for “Paphos Beach Parasol” (2017), DP Inspiration award honourable mention for “Through the looking prism” (2017), Winner and commissioned for the competition for “the pavilion @ ECO WORLD” (2016), a finalist for Dubai Expo Singapore Pavilion (2016).

Takanao Todo is a ceramicist, experimenting with various material and techniques. He is specialised in making Japanese tea items and sake items. In 2016 he held a ceramic exhibition “FLOWER X POTTERY” at Japan Creative Center (Singapore) in collaboration with Japanese flower artist DAN TAKEDA. At the following year 2017, he held another exhibition at the Japan Creative Center (Singapore) “Circle of Life” in collaboration with Singaporean artist Justine Lee. In 2019, he held a summer workshop “CERAMIC EXPERIMENTATION” at INDA with students to engage with the latest digital technology to challenge the design and function of ceramics. His students’ work is displayed and available at OPEN HOUSE, CENTRAL EMBASSY.

Tan Joo Heng
Founder of Sandworks

 
With more than 20 years experience under his belt, it is no surprise that he is able to transform sand, an ordinary medium, into incredible artworks which are often described as powerful, dynamic and innovative. This granule master is also known by the media a “Vincent Sand Gogh”. Joo Heng’s works have earned him a myriad o acclaimed global awards and were showcased in 70 cities across more than 20 countries. Hiss series of sand sculpture backdrops for an advertising campaign, “Dirt is Good”, surpassed the typical boundaries of traditional sand sculpting. Not only was it groundbreaking, but the series walked away with an award from the prestigious Cannes Lions in 2012.

Mrs Cynthia Tan
Board Member, Dyslexia Association of Singapore

Mrs Cynthia Tan Guan Hiang is a key Executive Committee Member of the Dyslexia Association of Singapore. She is the chairperson of the Exco’s Fund Raising Committee and took the lead in organising the very successful Charity Gala Dinner at the Singapore Island Country Club on September 2012 which raised $1.3 million for the das.

Mrs Cynthia is a member of the OCBC Group Management Team. She was appointed as Executive Vice President in April 2005. Being the Head of Group for Human Resources, she is responsible for the management as well as training and development of OCBC’s human capital. Mrs Cynthia has over 29 years of experience and has held senior-level positions with DFS Ventures, Mentor Graphics, Apple Computer and National Semiconductor.

Mrs Cynthia was also a former lecturer in Business Studies at Ngee Ann Polytechnic and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Hull, UK.
