Director of Specialised Educational Services


Edmen has been with the DAS since 2010. He graduated from the University of Western Australia, Perth with a degree in Psychology prior to joining DAS. He has since completed his Post-Graduate Certificate in Specific Learning Differences with London Metropolitan University and his Masters of Arts in Applied Linguistics with the National Institute of Education Singapore where he won the book prize for being the top student in his cohort. Edmen is an Assistant Director of Academic Programmes for the Specialised Educational Services (SES) Division and he is a Lead Educational Therapist. His role in DAS involves overseeing the academic programmes in SES, developing the curriculum and resources, and overseeing the teaching practices of the English Exam Skills Programme, and teaching students with dyslexia. Edmen is recently involved and contributing to the development and the launch of Short-Term programmes.

Edmen has a strong interest for research and has presented in the International Dyslexia Association conference in 2015 and the UnITE SpLD conference in 2016. He is also part of the research committee in the DAS. His research interests include reading comprehension, curriculum development, curriculum evaluation and language testing. Edmen's strong interest in languages and research and love for children fuels his passion in contributing to the field of language and special education.
