Karen is a Senior Educational Therapist with the Dyslexia Association of Singapore. She currently holds a professional membership as a Fellow with RETA Asia. An experienced educator, Karen has taught both local and foreign students of primary and secondary levels. At the DAS, she has worked with students of different calibre, such as Dyslexia and other co-morbidities like SLI and ADHD over the years. Karen also had management experience, one of which was in running the DAS centres. Her passion for teaching saw her contributing to curriculum development in the initial years as a team member, developing the oracy programme, organizing holiday enrichment workshops for students and attending an overseas international conference. Karen believes dyslexia is not the end; it's just a bend, as she continues to help her many students realize their potential and dream the impossible. Being service-oriented, she was also presented with the Star Service employee award in October 2014. A graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Karen received her teacher training from Cambridge International in a Diploma for teachers and trainers, garnering double distinctions, a Diploma in Dyslexia Studies (DAS) and a Certificate of Educational Studies in Math (UK College of Teachers).
